In 2024, in honor of May’s Small Business Month and May 6th BID Day, the HUB Third Avenue BID partnered with Flavors of NY for a video series on the Third Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) aka “HUB” and its local storefronts on Third Avenue in the Bronx. As the Bronx’s oldest shopping district, the HUB has a rich history. Enjoy the videos below on the people behind the local businesses that so many know and love.

The Bronx Coworking Space, located on the 3rd Floor of 2825 Third Avenue, is a dynamic space for local entrepreneurs, offering private offices, a conference room, high-speed internet, lockers, shared kitchenette and coffee station, and more!
At Home Linens at The Mall, located at 148th Street & 3rd Avenue, is a local favorite for household items, especially bedding and kitchen.
One of the BID’s longstanding local banks, Popular Bank, is known for a loyal clientele that spans generations.
Kid City, formerly Youngland, is a local children’s clothing retailer that has been serving the community for decades.
Nunez Depot is the BID’s local hardware store, family-owned for over 30 years. The BID has long relied on Nunez’s wide variety of tools and maintenance supplies to keep Third Avenue clean and safe, especially during snowstorms!
People’s Choice Meat Market & Grill is a local gem for quality meat! There aren’t many mom-and-pop butchers left in New York City, but Third Avenue is lucky to have had its very own butcher for 40 years!
What makes Vista on 3rd special isn’t just their great selection of eyewear, but the remarkable customer service. They love working in the HUB and it shows!
Affectionately referred to as “The Deli”, the 149 Willis Deli is well-known for its delicious sandwiches, including the famous “chopped cheese”. Located in Roberto Clemente Plaza, it’s a local favorite pit-stop when you need a meal on the go!
One of the most unique retailers in the district, Deals & Steals has a daily special promotion where most items in the store are the same price. You don’t have to wait until Black Friday to find great items on sale!
Every commercial district usually has its local discount department store and Third Avenue is no exception. S&A Stores on Third Avenue have a variety of everyday essentials!
